Meetings, not roaming bills

An eSIM for your business trip

Emails, maps to the meeting and calls over Teams or WhatsApp, from the moment you land. Prepaid data, with no roaming bill waiting when you get back.

Why it helps

Why an eSIM helps on a business trip

Spend the trip on the work, not on hunting for Wi-Fi.

  • Online from the moment you land

Install your eSIM on Wi-Fi before you travel. Your plan's validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network, so you can install it days ahead and switch it on as you land.

  • Keep your work number

Our eSIMs are data-only, so your main SIM stays in your phone for your usual number while the eSIM handles data. For calls over data, use apps like Teams or WhatsApp.

  • Get your laptop online

Share your data with your laptop using Personal Hotspot (iPhone) or Wi-Fi hotspot (Android). Everything the laptop does comes out of your allowance, so allow for it when you choose a plan.

  • Skip the hotel Wi-Fi for work

Public Wi-Fi in airports and hotels is often unencrypted. Using your own eSIM data for work email and banking keeps them off networks you don't control.

Data guide

How much data will I need?

Email and messages use little. Video calls and a laptop on hotspot are what eat into your allowance.

  • Email, messages and maps

    Light use

Keeping up with your inbox and work chats, and finding your way to the meeting. Large attachments use more, so open them on Wi-Fi where you can.

  • Browsing and working on shared documents

    Moderate use

Opening documents, slides and web pages adds up over a working day. Save big downloads for the hotel or office Wi-Fi.

  • Video calls

    Heavy use

One of the biggest uses. Join long calls from Wi-Fi when you can, or turn your camera off to use less.

  • Working from a laptop on hotspot

    Heavy use

Cloud sync, software updates and backups all run in the background once the laptop is online. Pause them, or save them for Wi-Fi, so they don't eat into your allowance.

Tips for a connected business trip

  • Using a work phone? Check it first

Your phone needs to support eSIM and be unlocked. Dial *#06#: if an EID number appears, it can use an eSIM. On an iPhone, Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock shows "No SIM restrictions" if it's unlocked.

  • Turn on data roaming for the eSIM

When you arrive, choose the eSIM as your mobile data line and turn on data roaming for it: the eSIM needs roaming on to connect. With the eSIM as your data line, your home SIM isn't used for data by mistake.

  • Laptop with built-in eSIM?

Some laptops support eSIM, so you can install the plan on the laptop itself. An eSIM works in one device at a time, so choose the phone or the laptop before you install.

Business travel eSIM questions

Not if they're in the same region. Our Europe plan, for example, covers over 35 countries, and your eSIM switches to a local network as you cross borders. A country plan covers that country only, and top-ups are for the same country or region, so pick a regional plan for a multi-country trip.
